The structure of the club and in particular the use of trophies in Competitions has changed in recent years.
For several years it has been Club policy to dispense with marks in competitions & just award 1,2,3 places & Highly Commended.
The number of Competitions has been also been reduced.
We no longer have 'Aggregate' cups, the B Section is not always viable, and there is no 'Annuals' Night to decide Best of Year.
The Cups have engraved upon them names that form the history of the club.
I'm please to say that some of those members' names are still regularly appearing on the cups that we still use.
For those members who have left us, moved away or sadly died, we felt it was important that their names should continue to be remembered in this more public way.

Parsons Cup
09/02/12
W.C.L.(Len) Parsons who donated the trophy was chairman 1948. He was a very respected Dorchester business-man who owned several gents barbers shops and tobacconists in the town and may well have had other interests as well. He was a founder member of the Club and used to produce the most superb 16 x 12 prints for the competitions. He was almost like a second grandfather to me and it was a privilege to have known him. I hope his work survives somewhere, it would be great if the Club could get hold of it. It may be in the Museum archives.
