Margaret Collis: "Off the Beaten Track in Indo- China"The meeting held on September 12th welcomed Margaret Collis EFIAP APAGB DPAGB ARPS from Bristol. Margaret has travelled a great deal but mostly in Europe. Her more recent trips have been to the Far East and this was the theme of her presentation.
We all enjoyed the variety of prints which gave showed Margaret’s skill in seeing beyond the usual tourist shots and gave us an insight into life in Vietnam and Cambodia. With each print she gave interesting anecdotes and background information. We were treated to many images of not only the historic temples, palaces and Angkor Wat but also more intimate images of the people and their lives out in the countryside. She explained that throughout the trips the people were very friendly and happy to be photographed and that where she had made a second visit she was able to give copies to some of those she had photographed.
Among her images Margaret showed us some which made up panels of five which gave yet another dimension to her presentation.
So there really was something for everyone on what was a very successful evening.
