Minolta Dynax 600i - We were on holiday in France and planned to watch the Tour de France go past. We found a good position and I got down really low, nearly at ground level as I wanted to make my picture more dramatic. I had to be careful to make sure that I did not get in the way of the peloton as it sped past. The photo was taken with a film camera (and scanned) so I did not have all the modern gadgetry of unlimited digital capture with multiple frames per second at my disposal and couldn’t just keep my finger on the shutter button.

I like it because it has the impact I wanted to capture and is a wonderful memory of watching the race. You can almost feel the wind of the cyclists flying past. When I look at the picture in my mind I can immediately relive the moment.
