We ended the this year's Camera Club of the Year
heats in style, winning the Landscape round with a total score of 93 out of a possible 100. This means we won two rounds (Street and Landscape) and came second in two rounds (Wildlife and Portrait). Thank you to our fantastic landscape photographers - Dee Wareham, Di Tilsley, John Tilsley, Stephen Lee and Tony Gill - and to everyone else who sent in lovely landscape photos for selection. It was a very difficult choice to make.
The final will take place at the Royal Ordnance Depot at Weedon, Northamptonshire. The final consists of 5 different shooting scenarios, each using a different Fuji Camera. The tasks are: Male Studio Portrait; Outdoor Fashion & Cars; Action; Close-Up and Documentary. Our team is Frances Underwood, Penny Piddock, Richard Anders and Stephen Jones with Rosie Mathison as reserve and they will just have an hour at each location to take and process their photos and each need to submit one top image for each round. The competition is as much about teamwork, resourcefulness and time-management as photography!
The other teams in the final are Exeter, New City, Harpenden and Great Notley. The prize for the winning club is a series of talks given by leading photographers on their specialist subjects.
We would like to thank everyone who got involved with Camera Club of the Year - either by sending in images for selection or by helping us with the selection process. If you didn't get an image selected this year, please do continue to submit each year because every round is different. It's a real club effort!
