Western Counties Digitally Projected Image Competition - News & Results, 07 Feb 2021
Congratulations to us! Dorchester was overall runner-up in the 2021 WCPF DPIC.

The 2021 Western Counties Digitally Projected Image Competition (DPIC) was presented via Zoom on 7 February. Viewing in the comfort of our own homes was quite a contrast to the stormy Sunday in Exeter for the 2020 Competition, but we missed the socialising, the Fotospeed discounts … and the Raffle.

DPIC is a huge inter-club battle - there were a record 58 clubs entered with 1044 high quality images. Judging by Rod Wheelans, Brian Swinyard and Graham Walton was fair and consistent.

Once again DPIC was close-fought, but Bristol emerged as clear winners overall with a score of 226, followed by Dorchester in second place with 215. Congratulations to Bristol as overall winners, Nonpareil who were the best Small Club and Colyford & District who won the Rookie Trophy.

Alas, there were no awards for Dorchester images, but we scored consistently, with four images receiving a 13: Stephen Jones' "Race the Finish", Tony Gill's "Lead Solo", Jane Lee's "Morahan Breaks" and Tim Downton's "Glossy Ibis Tossing Grub"

The 2021 DPIC was an excellent competition with some superb images. The WCPF must be commended for running a highly enjoyable, competitive and well-organised competition. Thanks to the judges and the WCPF team especially to Ralph Snook who spent many hours preparing the Zoom presentation including all the voiceovers.

The top two clubs, Bristol and Dorchester, will represent the WCPF at the PAGB Inter-Club Projected Digital Image Championship in July.

Our images can be seen in our DPIC Gallery and full results and more images may be found on the WCPF Website
