Stan joined us on Zoom from North-east Scotland to share his enthusiasm for digital art.
We were treated to scores of superb images inspired by art movements from the past and his own imagination.
Many of the images were abstract while others were, as Stan called them, “assemblages”. These used a range of items such as bird skulls, jewellery, plants, shells and feathers within backgrounds built by Stan from everyday materials. Throughout the talk, Stan described the techniques he uses and how he photographs in natural light on the floor in front of his French windows.
I think that everyone present will have been inspired to try some new ideas and Stan has provided written instructions to help Club members to do this. I look forward to seeing some exciting new work next year. Finally, a big thank-you to Stan for generously donating his fee for the evening to MNDA.
